Please note there are no overnight facilities for camper or caravans in Glen Tanar.
Out of respect for the residents and to minimise disturbance to wildlife we ask that you make use of the facilities nearby, details of which can be found here.
You can wild camp in Glen Tanar provided you Tread Lightly, Leave No Trace and follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
Wild camping means lightweight camping in a tent, well away from roads and carparks for no more than two or three nights in one place. This includes using a stove and refraining from lighting a fire.

Please note there is no designated public campsite in Glen Tanar. We do have an informal campsite available for organised groups undertaking Duke of Edinburgh expeditions or other supervised activities in collaboration with the Ranger Service.
