You can wild camp in Glen Tanar provided you Tread Lightly, Leave No Trace and follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
Wild camping means lightweight camping in a tent, well away from roads and carparks for no more than two or three nights in one place. This includes using a stove and refraining from lighting a fire.
Please note there is no designated public campsite in Glen Tanar.
Organised Groups & Duke of Edinburgh
We encourage any organised group of any age looking to camp in or transit through Glen Tanar to contact us prior to their visit.
For such groups we have an informal campsite available. This site is for supervised organised groups only can be booked via the Ranger Service.
